Erasmus+ 2024-2025
From May 26 to 29, the third phase of the Erasmus+ JAPOS project continues in Ljubljana — an international exchange between the schools of Pula, Trieste, and Ljubljana.
During this event, we are creating the packaging for the soaps made at the school in Trieste, assembling lavender sticks, distilling lavender and rosemary, and finalizing the logo for the packages. All of this is accompanied by moments of socialization and the building of new friendships.
JAPOS Project in Trieste
From 25 to 27 March 2025 we carried out the second phase of the European Erasmus+ project JAPOS- Adriatic Integration and Cooperation, where our school is a partner. After Pula, the project continued in Trieste.
On Tuesday, 25 March 2025 we welcomed the students of the Smlednik Educational Centre and the Dante Alighieri Italian High School from Pula. In mixed groups the students had labs in 3D drawing, created stamps and had a soap production workshop, with particular attention to the reuse of materials. In the afternoon, the students of the 2nd class of mechanics guided the guests through the city, then we took the tram to Opicina, where we had dinner together.
On Wednesday and Thursday, in the morning hours, we extracted several essential oils and concluded with the soap production workshops, technical drawing and 3D printing activities; in the afternoon we had a sports afternoon together, together we also saw the theatrical show Sissi. The next meeting will be held in Ljubljana in May.

DISSEMINATION OF THE KA210 JAPOS PROJECT
During the teachers’ board meeting on 19 December 2024, the mobility experience of the students of the second class of the mechanics section, who were in Pula in November at the Dante Alighieri School with Italian as the language of instruction, was presented. The experience contributed to improving language skills, personal growth and increasing intercultural understanding, fostering networking on an interregional level.

On August 28, 2024, a meeting was held at our school to kick off the new Erasmus+ project “Integration and Adriatic Cooperation,” attended by teachers from Dante Alighieri School in Pula, along with educators from the Smlednik Professional Center and the Ljubljana branch.
The project’s aim is to introduce students to and compare the cultural, educational, and economic characteristics of the three Upper Adriatic countries. By promoting the exchange of experiences within minority communities, the project fosters integration within the broader Adriatic region and allows participants to gain in-depth knowledge of the environment and socio-economic situation of neighboring countries. The students involved will have the opportunity to broaden their perspectives for future studies or employment opportunities within the project.
In line with the “farm to table” principle, the project aims to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, and marketing. The Italian Secondary School of Pula plans to plant lavender and helichrysum in its garden and set up beehives. In Trieste, we intend to assemble a distillation device for the production of fragrances, with the goal of obtaining essential oils and hydrosols. In Ljubljana, we will proceed with product packaging and conclude the project with a final conference and a review of the work carried out.
